HISTORY: the Club became an official affiliated club in 2008 and we have members whose ages range from 18 years to 70+. We are affiliated to England Athletics and our members can receive discounts on many race entry fees, as well as other benefits from England Athletics. In 2017, the club was named Club of the Year for the West Midlands in the England Athletics Regional Awards.
ETHOS: we aim to provide a safe running environment for women of all ages, size and ability giving them the opportunity to run together to improve their health, fitness and confidence.
ORGANISATION: the club has a small committee open to every club member, with elections held at our AGM. We have also a qualified coach (Level 2 Coach in Running Fitness) and a number of qualified run leaders (Level 1 Leadership in Running Fitness).
APPROACH: our regular runners co-ordinate routes, training plans and running schedules. At club runs, groups of 4 to 20 runners will each follow a similar route for that evening accompanied by at least one qualified run leader per group. At particular times of the year, we may follow a set training plan e.g. marathon training, training for the Potters 'Arf (our local half marathon) etc. We ask club members to contribute to club runs by suggesting routes, helping to ensure all runners are organised into groups and ensuring no-one is ever left behind.
NEW MEMBERS: if you are already running regularly and would like to join us, please get in touch via our contact form. You are welcome to run with us on a trial basis for up to two weeks before deciding whether to join the club. You will be asked to sign a disclaimer before running with us on a trial basis. Once you decide to join, you will be asked to complete a membership form. Memberships are renewed annually. Please get in touch via our contact form if you would like more information or to let us know when you are coming. Click here to find out more about what to expect and how to prepare.
BEGINNERS: our beginners courses are aimed at ladies who have never run before or not run for a long time. The only requirement for joining the course is that you are able to walk for 30 minutes without stopping and have the desire and commitment to complete the course. Still unsure... check out some of the inspiring stories on our blog.

I never thought I could be a runner. Now I run 3 times a week and 'feel' like a runner. I can run 10 miles and feel fantastic afterwards, |
I have honestly met some of the loveliest people through running and am blessed to call the Potters Trotters my dear friends. |
